Industrial Visit of students belonging to M.Com Previous and Final Year 2017-18

Industrial Visit provides students with an opportunity to learn practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices. It gives them exposure to current work practices as opposed to possibly theoretical knowledge being taught at the college. Industrial visits provide an excellent opportunity to interact with industries and know more about the industrial environment.
Over the last five years, the Industrial visit is a vital part of M.Com course of Post Graduate Department of Post Graduate Studies and Research in Commerce.  It helps to bridge the gap between the classroom and the real world. Through industrial visit, M.Com students are opened to the real world, where they get to know what is commerce, what is marketing, organization structure, accounting and what is their future profession. One of the important objectives of M.Com courses is to prepare post graduates quickly become productive upon entering into the corporate world. Therefore industrial visit makes students understand the subject to their core area and to get deeper practical experience in a real field situation. Universities apply different methods to corporate practical experiences and real-world applications into their curricula to prepare students for the technical challenges they might face in the workplace. Industrial visit is providing them an opportunity to gather information about your academic lessons, which cannot be visualized in classrooms. A good industrial visit will give the students an opportunity to learn things practically in a real-time functional environment through interaction, witnessing the working methods and clarifying the doubts from experienced workers. There is a lot of difference between the information we get from books and what we earn by seeing.
The students belonging to M. Com Previous Year and Final of Department of Post Graduate Studies and Research in Commerce proceeded on an Industrial Visit to Bangalore from 24.12.2017 to 28.12.2017. They visited various units.

Department of Post Graduate and Research in Commerce has conducted three days industrial visit on 21st December to 23rd December 2017 to Bangalore and Mysore with the help of 38 students along with four faculties. The schedule was as follows:
Day 1:  23/12/2017
Our students stayed in “United Theological Centre” Bangalore. Our students visited “Coca-Cola Pvt Ltd. Mr SN Sharma General Manager and MS Sangeetha Nair, Relationship Officer, guided the students and explained the process of manufacturing. He explained that Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd, is one of India’s largest FMCG manufacturing and distribution companies. It is responsible for the manufacture, package, sale and distribution of beverages under the trademarks of The Coca-Cola Company. The Company owns and operates 21 factories. It also sources from and supports 11 contract packers’ plants. A network of 4,000 distributors and over 1.9 million retail outlets distribute the high quality, great tasting beverages manufactured by Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages
DAY 2:  22/12/2017
The students visited “Kalmar Pvt Ltd” at Dabaspete Thumkur. Mr Devaraj, General Manager explained the process of operational and assembling of trucks with subjective connection and he has shown the demo and lifting container and the power of heavy trucks.

Their visit also included the “Snow City” where students have spent an hour in the snow city wherein, the degree of temperature is 0 C, and we had watched 9D technology movie. The students also visited malls like GARUDA MALL and ORIAN MALL and ISKON and Nandi hills and GRS Fantasy Park
